Robert Reid
Injured in the 1996 Rally Catalunya.
Reasons:
Other major British co driver Derek Ringer was around for whole season.
Richard Burns did not drive in 1997 Monte Carlo and was replaced by Uwe Nittel in the second Lancer. This Lancer was run by Ralliart Germany. Nittel also had to drive the no 2 lancer in Sweden but Robert Reid returned for the Safari Rally.

You are right Mitch but it was more than injury which kept Mr Reid out of the co-driver seat. He discovered he had a rare condition (won't even bother trying to spell it) whereby the notes he called were not the notes on the page. As a result he almost didn't return to the co-driver's seat until Richard and Mitsubishi pleaded
