Well, Rally Bathurst is almost upon us, the final leg of the Globalstar Australia Rally Championship. Run on the 28-30 October; the forests in and around Bathurst(NSW) should provide plenty of excitement for the local rally fans. Championship winner's Cody Crocker and co-driver Dale Moscatt will be hard to beat in their factory Subaru, but what of their team mates Dean Herridge and Bill Hayes? How will they fare up on the mountain? It will be interesting to see how the Corolla's perform too-Neal Bates and Simon Evans are close to a win I feel-time will tell if the conditions suit their set-ups. Well, what are the tips for Bathurst so far? Does anybody see Mitsubishi featuring on the podium? -LITA

I think that Crocker will do what he has done all season and outshine the rest, just to cap off a stellar season, Evans in second. I don't think the mitsubishi has the driving talent or car to make the podium here, why they got rid of Ordynski. I'm not a mitsu fan but always had a soft spot for Ed. They went outta my books when they dumped the most successful Australian driver in Rally OZ

;DDon't worry R83, we'll get you up to speed in no time LOL!! It's funny you mention that about Ordynski Tumbo; I too feel he was given a raw deal. One of the greats of Australian rallying and taking a back seat like he is-disgraceful Not to be disrespectful to Mitsu, but I really feel they did themselves more harm than good with that decision-Ed deserved better! -LITA

They really didn't endear themselves to the fans in any way. Especially as they owe any of their previous ARC success to the former teacher who aside from Bates is the most respected and talented driver in the field. Met him once, he was more than happy to talk ARC, WRC even to discuss the Subaru team.

I am in full agreeance-it was not handled well in any case. Ed has a lot to offer, I was really hoping he would be able to pick up a drive next season; not be sidelined as he is. I have read in quite a few articles that he is scouting for the right deal, but so far, no cigar! Having him back would be a great coup for the ARC, fan's want to see that. -LITA

He had a run in the Corolla earlier in the yr, perhaps Toyota might see the sense in keeping him on as a third driver, his testing and grp N experience would really help to push the car that one step closer to the Subeys

Too true-Toyota seem to be moving in the right direction too, they would have to recognise the benefits of keeping him on their team. Let's hope.

Heat 1 Results:
1. Crocker 2. Herridge 3. Evans 4. Bates 5. Glenney
Pedder rolled in the final stage so Evans could grab second in the championship also Barker had a flat which cost him the lead
