Ford have withdrawn the Michael Guest and Mark Stacey, Ford Focus from Rally Bathurst. First announcing they have a 2.3 litre RWD NA car and now this. It is a joke. Ford should develop a real 2.0 litre turbo 4WD rally Focus.

A RWD focus would be fantastic to see on the stages, lots more sideways action for the fans. The problem isn't the specs of the car but rather the on-off relationship w/ the media. This project has been around for 2yrs now w/ no entry thats the problem.
On the car front i'd wait to see it on the stages before calling it a joke, would rather have a RWD sideways car than car on rails 4WD

Ford aren't even there yet so I don't see how pulling out would make anything different. On top of that they are worried about the effect that Rallying in Aus has had on Corolla sales and would like to see the same effect on their cars. Considering that the Corolla is yet to win a rally I think that ppl like the way the car drives and looks on the stages rather than the titles or wins

The Corolla has won rallies. 2004 Western Australia (Evans) & 2005 South Australia (Bates). Hopefully over the break they can develop the car how it is supposed to be. And get a new rear spoiler. As well as make a rip off of the new WRC body kit for the WRC06.

The Corolla needs to win the championship though to really get the public recognition, plus 2 wins from 3yrs isn't that good a showing, though their speed has been greater recently. as for a rear spoiler I would have to look over the rules to see whether that could be a reason as to the lack thereof, also the funding for the project isn't that high in comparison to subaru which could be another reason
