Skoda - spainAnother Podium for Skoda with Capeta finishing 3rd! Amylyn finishing 7th for two manufactures points. "Another podium is great for me and for the team. But I still upset of what happen on the first stage. Like last round in Portugal, we lost hydraulic pressure in the automatic gear shift. And also again the diffs, they were working at 50%. Too bad we lost time with these technical problems because in the later stages we were setting such competitive times." "At least we got third and we are still in the battle of this very close championship."

*** Tumbo Press Statement ***
I would like to apologise to the team on my poor showing in spain. Having worked so hard at improving the performance of the car and the recent team changes bringing new motivation I threw it all away by clouting a wall on the first day. Unfortunately I broke a strut which caused severe understeer for the remainder of the event. I am sure that the team will improve its performance in the future and hopefully Wayno and I can break through for a maiden victory. With the current difference between myself and the Subaru team I feel that the remainder of the season is turning into extra testing for next yr.
I am pleased to announce that I have resigned with FCT for a further yr and hope that I can show more speed to justify my selection

FORD REVIEW OF SPAIN- RJ "Wow, I can't believe how luck can turn things around after one week. I'm proud to be standing on the top step of the podium in my second victory of RFC history. I've always wanted to add to last season's victory at Mexico. The team worked really hard in the lead up to the Rally of Spain . To be frank I was pessimistic about my prospects for the next few rounds but thanks to the surroundings at Ford and all the engineers, I was motivated enough not to give up. Obviously, I am very emotional and so to end my review, I want to say it was a very close rally, but one in which I'm glad to be victorius in. Thank you to everyone who took part in this occasion!"

Subaru Spain Report
Subaru are extremely pleased with their results in Spain this week. Mitch took the lead in the RFC with a second place and Lita took time to get used to driving on tarmac.
Mitch: "It was agreat shock to me to be second on the pdium. We really weren't expecting this. We had a secret Pirelli tarmac tire which we have been testing for a while now without anyone knowing. This has turned out in our favour. The pace has been good as I'm not a great fan of tarmac."
David Lapworth: "What a rally. We are very pleased to be on top of both the manufacturers and drivers title. This is a great boost for Subaru and Pirelli. It was a great rally for Mitch and Lita has shown great pace even though she had a niggling gearbox problem on one stage and only having RWD on another. It was great that she was finished and we apologize for the problems."
Head of Pirelli: "We are very happy to be on the podium on a tarmac round as Pirellis have never been strong on tarmac."
Is this the turn around in Mitch's championship?

Subaru Driver Comments Lita
Firstly I'd like to give RJ a well deserved pat on the back-he drove a great rally and finally he has been given the accolades he deserves. Great Stuff! To my team mate Mitch-what can you say about this guy? He a star. He really kept a cool head and drove assertively, but not too aggresive whilst the pressure was on all the way-congratulations on that awesome 2nd place. I was quite pleased with my efforts this rally. Certainly Tarmac is not my preffered surface and i think that became obvious by day one. That was not the only thing that was holding me back though, the car had some gearbox worries and it really was pure skill of my crew that got it to the finish line-nothing more, nothing less. I am happy with my performance here and right now I want to go bask in the sunshine of the teams 2nd place-it's really quite an achivement for all of us.

*** Irish Rally Press Release ***
FCT driver Andrew Nesbitt was excluded from the 3rd round of the irish championship this week after it was discovered the Xsara's gearbox failed the FIA regulations as to its semi-automatic programing. While it has not been confirmed what the offensive data entry was it has been rumoured that the new Xsara gearbox was linked to a data input screen below the driver's seat, which allowed the crew to automatically program gear selection during the recce and improve gear selection. The FIA are currently investigating the matter and it is unclear whether the factory FRC team will be affected.
FCT Management We are truly sorry to our fans and all members of the team. Considering our early position regarding the Subaru team we will be conducting some internal audits to make certain that all rules are complied with. We are more than happy to allow FIA officials to conduct their own investigations and will provide full support. We are certain that the factory team will not be affected but in the advent of any FIA sanctions we have our 2 latest Xsara evo 3's which were approved for use by the FIA just last weekend as a final resort.
Carlos Sainz Having just taken over the role as team manager and principle I am very sorry that this has happened under my leadership. Having just begun to work out the problems affecting the relationship between management and the drivers this is the last issue I wish to deal with. I hope that Wayno and Tumbo understand the Irish arm of our operation have undertaken their actions with no approval from the factory team. We remain commited to our goal of scoring a maiden win with the Xsara and challenging for both the drivers and manufacturers titles. While we apologise to the other teams we hope that Subaru decide to remain silent on the issue after their earlier indiscretions. We are pleased the FIA have dealt with this matter so quickly and hope that all other rule violations are also quickly addressed. We are lead to understand that Nesbitt and the Irish CT will be exluded from the championship but allowed to compete in a testing role for the remainder of the season

**FIA NEWS** A couple of notes: Citroen will be given a written warning regarding the gearbox issues. We at the FIA understand that in competative racing advances must be made. And with those advances sometimes come pieces of equipment that don't meet regulations. We will regard this one time as an accident and shall say no more on the subject. Further inspection of the Cyprus stages have shown no improvement as requested a couple of weeks ago. The cost vs. profit margin would hinder the RFC rather than help it. It is with great dissapointment that we at the FIA are terminating the Cyprus round. We gave organisers every chance to rectify the situtation, but to no avail. Peugeot's new RFC challenger has passed all inspections and is cleared to race in the next rally. As usual if there are any teams with problems or comments please feel free to let us know. signed FIA Board

The Rallye de Corsica proved to be a good event for 4 teams who all scored points with both of their drivers. Also it was a rally in which all of the entrants finished. Skoda's Amylynn took a suprising victory in the Fabia. A great win for the rookie. Spacedeck took 2ns in the debut of the brand new Peugeot 307. An impressive debut for a car thats a lot bigger than the 206. Rookie Amylynn took victory in the Skoda Fabia Impressive 2nd place for the new 307 Tumbo and his Xsara made up the last of the podium in 3rd

Thanks fo to the team for the quick turn around on the Xsara's speed on Tarmac. Another podium has left me yearning more for that elusive win. To be sitting in third place on the championship ladder is fantastic.

Skoda - CorsicaSkoda's first win!!! We at Skoda would like to congratulate Amylyn on her first win. Also we would like to thank Capeta who scored a strong points finish to help the Skoda team in the manufacturer's fight. "The car was really great today! The setup and the tires were prefect! Congrats to Amylyn on her win. Skoda worked very hard to get both cars up to so much speed. And it showed! Both car were setting great times." "Too bad I lost time on the last stage; with so many corners in the rally... I misjudged and pulled the hand-brake a little too long. Luckily it ended up into a half spin. I'm still happy that we still got valuable points and that we are second in the championship." -- Capeta

**Mitsubishi Report** Yet another bad rally for Mitsubishi. We are now in last place in the manuf. table. We are still working very hard to solve the problem. We had good times but also very bad times. The car is getting faster. We admit that the new spec parts are causing us some issues. Overall though we feel it will benefit us long term if we sort these issues out. This is why no blame has been placed on the drivers. We assure the fans that we will be back on the podium soon. Rallying83-"I am at a loss for words right now. This season keeps on going down hill. I spun on the 1st stage then Vivski spun on the last stage. He has echoed my concerns on the lack of speed of the car. I am still 100% behind Mitsubishi but I am starting to get worried. I would love a championship title but thats not looking good. I bet Skoda are laughing at me right now."

Subaru ReportRallySubaru are pleased with performances from both Mitch and Lita. This rally was used for tyre testing. Both Mitch and Lita did not use the brand new tarmac spec Pirelli tyres during this round as they opted to develop the tyre more. NewsSubaru will debut a new car in the future. This new Impreza WRC will be a lot faster as the aerodynamics have improved greatly. The car will be used on the recce in Japan and Australia if allowed. It may be used from Japan onwards. NewsThe new Subaru car will not be used on Safari Rally with Subaru opting for the older car.

FORD REVIEW OF FRANCE- RJ
"It just wasn't our weekend for both Erocracing and I. We couldn't find the right car set-up even on the tarmac surface. After last round's victory, the team was a bit complacent this rally. Unfortunately, that is that only explanation I have for our poor performance. By next round, we certainly will do better than 10th and 11th."

****PRESS RELEASE****
A much better result for us after some recent turmoil in the team. We are getting back to where we should be, but I'm still not happy. We had a blistering first day and I was starting to feel like my first win of the season was on the cards. Unfortunately then we had day two! We had a tyre delaminate during the day and this caused a massive amount of damage to the rear suspension and cost us a lot of time. The back of the timesheets on ANY day of a rally is not where I want to be! Day three wasn't much better. The team did an awesome job to repair my car, but I think our performance on day three was a little too conservative. Constant radio contact with the team told us we were in a position for two excellent points finishes and so I think I relaxed a little too much. I was worried that we might have another tyre problem and was worried about the loss of points. Still, fourth is good for us and with Tumbo upstaging me once again we are back to within a point of the manufacturers lead. The drivers title is getting away from me though I feel. I vow for the fans and sponsors that I will up my game in the future.
