Monte Carlo will be our first of 18 stops. Monte Carlo is a twisty and icy rally that will catch out any driver not on his game. Weaving through the mountains is the perfect way to begin the season, though I would leave your slicks at home. Winter testing has already begun. Below are pictures of Peugeot, Subaru, Skoda, and Ford testing.

FORD PREVIEW OF MONTE CARLO- RJ
" I can't believe a new season is going to begin. We at Ford have worked tirelessly during the off-season so we anticipate a great start to the season.
I have nothing but praise for my new team-mate, Euroracing. He has been very impressive with his testing performances. I am sure we will make a formidable team for Season Two of the RFC.
After my maiden victory at Mexico last season, I hope to win the season opener at Monte Carlo. It's going to be a tough challenge with the variable surface conditions, as Snack and myself saw over the recce so my main concern is that I have to be cautious but fast at the same time.
Snack and I are now rearing to go. Good luck to Euroracing and his co-driver. Let's bring it home for Ford!"

*** FCT Undercover ***
After early previews and discussion on the new T4 and its entry back into the WRC stable, FCT have gone strangly quiet over recent days. Insiders say that development has begun on a new rear wing which should produce more down-force, improving performance of the car. Early indicators suggest that team orders would favour no. 2 driver Wayno after his dominant performance last season.
With both Wayno and Tumbo notching up wins in Monte and Sweden respectively last season FCT is hoping for a repeat performance this yr. The aim is for a 1-2 in the championship. The possibility remains that FCT will hire a privateer later in the season as a nominated specialist for tarmac events.

****WAYNO VERY HAPPY AT FCT****
So far testing in my new car has been going extremely well. The team are showing commitment that has frankly surprised me. The engineering staff are unbelievable and their enthusiasm is contagious. They are at least the equal of the factory Subaru staff I worked with last year. Tumbo and I have been involved in long discussions and it seems we are both going in a very similar direction with the development of the car. All bad blood from our little 'coming together' last year in New Zealand seems to have gone out the window. My health has been great and I'm feeling 100% after a break and a little rehabilitation. Being back in a rally car with a new challenge in front of me is a situation I must admit I am savouring! There is an air of quiet confidence at FCT and we are all looking forward to delivering some great results for our valued sponsors and fans in the coming season.

** Skoda (Capeta) - Monte Carlo Rally Preview **
"After a lot of success in F1, this will be a new chapter of my motorsport career! My best friend and co-driver, Nobu, suggested that we should try rallying. Together, things went very good. Both of us are very excited that Skoda has given us a chance in the RFC."
"We have tried both Group N Lancer and Impreza in private testing before, even before being asked by Skoda. So I know the specs of the Japanese cars very well. The Skoda Fabia is a completely different car! The specs and driving it feels very good. I will try to do my best for Skoda."

**Mitsubishi Report**
"So far I am really liking the car. It is taking a bit of time getting used to a car of this length, especially since my last car was the Skoda! Otherwise though testing went well. Some minor set up issues need to be worked on, but I am confident the engineers will come up with solutions."-Rallying83

*** Citroen News ***
Latest testing has produced results far beyond our wildest expectations. Testing at our custom made course began early in the week and already 5 fastest times have been recorded!
Considering the calibre of drivers who set these times previously we are v. happy w/ our new team lineup and the car. Early issues w/ suspension setting bottoming out over large jumps have been rectified and fans will be pleased to know that slight changes to the diff ratio and steering arm have resulted in some fabulous slides on the fast flowing sections of the track. PSA representatives who have been watching our progress are v. impressed and indicate that a new engine and gearbox set will be ready in time for Rally Catalunya.

What a great start to the season! Rookie Lita suprised everone by taking 1st place. An amazing drive for her and Subaru. Citroen proved to be the most consistant team as both drivers finished next to each other in the points. 2 disapointing retirements though. Spacedeck retired after hitting a cliff face with his Peugeot. Then 1 stage later Mitch crashed into a bridge when the brakes on his Subaru failed. img.web.de/c/00/56/52/A9.420[/img]Rally Winner Lita Mitch retired after brake problems Spacedeck retired after hitting the cliff face

Yahoo-I'm am very pleased to win at Monte Carlo-what a fantastic way to start the season and what a fantastic car Subaru have prepared-I owe it all to them And to my unlucky teammate Mitch-Chin-up! The issue with the brakes will be worked out and next rally we know you'll be back with a vengeance.

*** FCT ***
While happy w/ our competitive performance in the manufacturer's stakes we apologise to Wayno and Tumbo. Severe tyre wear in the first 2 stages saw both our drivers struggle to maintain the pace. Additionally a faulty diff on the second stage saw Tumbo lose a further 3 secs on his team mate. A equal fastest time on the final stage gives us confidence going into Sweden where we hope our minor technical niggles are solved.
We again apologise to our drivers who performed admirably in difficult circumstances

"I'm happy that we got to the finish and also that we were able to set a fastest stage time. Monte Carlo is a very tricky event, and not so good event to do it for the first time." -Capeta

**Rally Report** Not a good rally for us. The cars made it to the finish but as the result shows, we have a lot of work to do. I am not to discouraged as this is a new team and it was expected. It was just down to a combination of bad tyre choice and wrong set up. We will do better in Sweden I am sure of it!

****PRESS RELEASE****
I am quite satisfied with the way things panned out for the team in Monte Carlo, but we have some issues to sort out before our next tarmac event. FCT have some more tarmac testing planned and I'm sure that we will be on top of things in the near future. I had high hopes heading into this rally after winning here last year, but alas that was not to be. We struggled a little for tyre wear over the course of the event and I must admit i struggled as much as the tyres did! My enforced break after New Zealand last year was really starting to tell by the third day. I held on as best I could, but feel that I have let the team, our sponsors and fans down a little with my performance. I will be upping the tempo in my training routine in an effort to address this problem and am expecting a much better performance from myself next time we come out to play! Still, it's a great start to a new season for our team as we got a bunch of manufacturers points and my team mate did a great job to come home in fifth place. With a bit of luck I can see both of us sharing a podium very soon. I just hope his step is a little lower than mine! Looking forward to our next outing when, once again, we hope to put a great show on for all of you!
